That's a beauty, SuperDave! The center bumperettes: were those an option in '48-'49? Like the color.0

Dealer installed or buy over the counter and bolt on yourself.0 -
The color is a '50 color.. I ""l kinda took a little artistic "lattitude". It's a late production 49.. LOL. The guards are a correct Hudson add on. I took them out of a Hudson box, so they are correct. Not much else is though! I kinda Commodorized it. Put Commodore tail lights, A Pacemaker stainless trim on the back above the Bumper, I have Commodore hood ornament and a trunk emblem on the way from the chrome shop.I also put the front fender ornaments on as well as the sunvisor,Spot light and fog lights. Looks like a Christmas Tree! Now to find some mud flaps with the chrome wings and red reflectors.. he he..
I have modified the mechanics a bit.. 12 volts, Power rack and pinion steering, airconditioning, 358 rear end with OD,Twin H, rebuilt 262 with a Randy Maas cam. Am/Fm Cd player, Non original but decent green interior with a '51 steering wheel, turn signals and a class lll trailer hitch receiver. Oh.. and 1" lowering blocks to set the ride angle they way i like it. Other than that stuff, she's "stock"..0 -

Beautiful car SuperDave, you know the old saying, "more is better". Dave is your paint metallic? Great color, I don't have all those great mods, I'm just envious!!! Maybe we can park next to each other at a Hudson show someday. Richie.0 -
Dave:
Nice job, like the paint. Thanks for telling us all the details, good stuff to think about, maybe use on mine. Still going to the National? See you there. Bob0 -
Richie&Bob,
Yep, It's metallic alright! jumps out at you in the sun..We plan to be at Savannah as well as Pontiac Meets. Parking next to your gorgeous brougham would make mine look kinda rough. See y'all at Savannah?
I think I forgot to mention the pridemore disc brake conversion to hydroboost power and Pertronics ignition. I wish i could get the gas mileage of a Pacemaker. Perhaps with one single bbl? This Hornet carbed Twin H runs sweet, but a little rich. A never ending project.:D0 -

SuperDave, your car looks awesome and with all your updates it will be beautifully driving road car, a pleasure to drive. As far as the paint goes mine is a 50 footer at best, my" learning experience" or inexperience shows. The only real update besides the radiator is the Pridemore disc brakes that I love. Not sure about going to Savannah yet as we might be going to a wedding up in New England, but we are planning to go to Pontiac. Best of luck with your new toy SuperDave !! Richie.0
