Well, thanks for asking. It’s true that Eastwood has some cool stuff, but the answer you got back it pure bunk. I have seen both and had both in my hands....they are the same. Maybe Eastwood thought they were getting something else when they took on this item or the manufacture is telling them something else.

I have nothing but hero worship for Eastwood, but in this case this duck is not a goose. ;) Save your money.

Oh, BTW....if you what to try something cool from Eastwood, check out their spray chrome kit. I kid you not, the results are very good and for small parts you can't beat it. I use it restore dash knobs, little trim pieces, interior items and under the hood parts. Re-coat pot-metal items. Very cool. :D
  • Also, you can use Glass Bead to tumble parts clean. You never really see that media associated in magazines or catalogs, but it works good to clean nuts and bolts...or small parts. Heck, I bet you could use sand or pebbles for that matter. :)
  • Careful, your wives are gonna find out how good you are at working the parts cleaning machine and put you in charge of the laundry LOL!!

Don't think so... My wife doesn't like what I do with bleach!

As a side-note, my tumbler is out of commission, at least until I get some parts in (already ordered). The base that holds the media bin has developed some cracks, probably because I tightened the media bin too tight. That, coupled with the vibration caused cracks.

In the meantime - I'm keeping myself busy cleaning parts-n-pieces with the blasting cabinet, parts washer, as well as dismantling the '46 - (my 3rd engine/trans still in this one).

If I have some spare time, I'll be working on the intake, carb, fuel pump and water pump for the '39 175 cu in engine, and maybe the same items from the '54 232 as well... As you can see, plenty to keep me busy!

I'm curious to see the design difference between yours and mine.

    How old is this tumbler?
  • Any one having problems with the Harbor Freight models that vibrate?

Mine runs about 1 to 3 hrs then takes a break, cools down I guess, then restarts. I usually cut the switch when I leave the shop, restart again when I return. Running green triangles cleaning nuts, bolts, small parts, etc..

I have run it all day, noticed it shuts down several times(2-3) during the 6-8 hour period. Sometimes it is off more than an hour. Just wondering if I got a bad unit. Thanks, Bob
