Unity back up lights angled mounting pads?

I've located a nice set of Unity Model "C" back up lights from Mike at Bill and Charlie's- thanks Mike. I still need the two black rubber ANGLED mounting pads. I don't see them on the k-gap catalog. Anyone have a NOS or as new excellent pair? Niels

No one I know of reproduces these and haven't been able to find a good substitute, even with slight modifications.



I think we are stuck for now trying to find a good used set, or possibly NOS. I've never even seen a set on E-Bay, although I don't check it religiously.

BTW... to make these rubber backings... purchase a chunk of rubber of the correct thickness... put it in the freezer for a couple of days... then select a hole saw of the proper diameter... cut out the rubber backing blanks and then shave back to get proper contour. I have used a coping saw to make the inital cut for the contour. Possibly a band saw would do the same?

The mfg. idea is a fine one and would most certainly work, I think. Securing the rubber that is thick enough would seem to me to be the most challenging part of that job.

I would take those lights over to a auto store that sells truck and trailer lights I bet you might find the angled rubber parts that are close as you see the orange marker lights and such on the roofs of trucks and last time I was in one of those stores they had a display of lights on curved surfaces so you might get close then work it the rest of the way.

I'm still kinda torn on whether or not I want to put them on the convertible. I've got a set on the sedan, and they're great for backing up at night. Just can't decide if it's gonna clutter up the look on the convertible or not. I'm already adding a continental kit and the backs of cars typically look better "cleaner" to me.
