Question on pulling engine/trans
I need to pull the engine and transmission from my 54 Special. The front end is completely off the car; fenders, hood, radiator, etc. Is it easier/okay to remove the engine and transmission as a unit or should they pulled one at a time? Does the same apply for reinstalling?
I have pulled an engine by itself once before so am not a complete novice.
Thanks for your feedback,
Doug

Doug, I have found it much easier to pull them as a unit. Also since the front end is off it is easier to replace as a unit..If not OK I guess I am in trouble. The only way it could be easier, at least in My opinion, is to have someone else do it!

Yep, just buy or rent a "cherry picker" & pull the whole unit + same when re-installing - "piece of cake", LOL.0

Doug, BJ is right -do it as a unit. Save yourself the hassle of tying them together after the fact. If you have the whole front clip removed, this is a no brainer. In 10 minutes its over and done.0

Bj, Old Hudsons and Hudzilla, thanks for your helpful responses. That looked like the way to go but things are not always as they appear.
