I am following your coupe restoration with interest and feel your Hudson is going to be a real Beauty. I like your paint scheme too since I painted one similar back in high school and now decades later have another painted identical for racing, but neither Hudson was as nice as yours. Keep up the great Work....
Thanks, I just can't wait to finish restoration and think this will be my last one. I've never seen a bad looking Hudson; your car looks real nice and with your TLC will look even better...See couple of more pictures I added, reference 1956 Twin-H Hornet, I am afraid if I don't sell this car, I may start to restore it?.
Good Luck,

Hi Ray,
the interior is looking real good and super sharp, just to match the outside
I love the wood grain effect and there is so much of it too
All the lines both inside and out are looking real crisp
Enjoy being on the homeward run and how far you have come since all started
Then all that's left will be time to savor all the fruits of your labor

Good Morning Mike,
I've been following most of your posts with pictures during restoration and I enjoyed all of your hard work with comments...Thanks for your kind words with vote of confidence; after 34 months without any future unseen delays I'll have car on the road again.
Stay well,

HI Ray, your interior, as the rest of the car, is incredible. Since I am budgeting my restoration, I would like to know what I would expect to pay, since you must have gone through that, for the material only. My first goal is to put original material in it. Carpeting, doors, seats and ceiling. It's a 54 Super Wasp fordor sedan. 1K,2K,3K or more? Hope not. I sent an e-mail to SMS for a sample but did not have an answer yet. I already have the guy to do it. He restored perfectly many valuable cars and among them 2 Hudsons that I have already seen. He's been doing it since 50 years. If the material is too pricy, I will have to go with lookalike material, and that will be ok for me too. Thanks.0

Sure looks good, Ray. Bet it's a ***** to drive with no pedals and no wheel, though.:D
Seriously though, do you plan on putting the robe handles on the backs of the front seats? Everything else looks very complete.0 -

Hi Russ,
Besides being a ***** to drive, in present state it's a ***** to push too!!!
Yes Russ and I must compliment you with eagle eyes, as with all the chrome I had platted including courtesy rope handles which will be installed shortly. Also have removable velcro carpet piece that goes over master cyclinder, becasue I am using 700R4 transmission I didn't require patch for hydromatic stick checking. Should have three buttons on back rests installed later today...Still owk to do; Vintage A/C, steering wheel, complete new wiring and starting etc.
Stay well,

Thank you,
Don't know what your 50 year highly qualified experienced upholsterer would charge and also don't have any idea how much SMS would charge for material, however I think cost of goods will be pricey. Depending on what kind of job you want, I would expect and budget at least 3K for firewall, kick and door panels, headliner, windlace, rear peice behind back rests, front and rear seats, piping around window frames all of which I didn't include trunk? Always seems like when you start job, one always want to upgrade from original plans or at least I did...Post pictures
Good Luck,

Thanks Ray, I will have to sit down and decide if I go completely as "original" as possible with all the costs involved or not. The good side of not doing it is that you can give place to some creativity. And in some case, like you, it turns great! Thanks again.0

I like that access panel to the trunk very utilitarian especially if you're like at a national and hauling home some stainless trim or something like that.0

Hi Aaron,
After owning many modern manufactured cars with rear backs that can be pulled down allowing owner to haul long items, ski's, golf clubs, Christmas trees and or stainless purchased at Hudson meeting I decided add same convenient feature in my coupe.
Thanks,
Ray0
