The auction # 370207585573 is about to end with the reserve not met.

Any comments on the color of this car? Are these colors original Hudson colors?

  • Too much metallic and too bright green for my taste.

Teach this old dog a new trick. How do you shorten the URL so it doesn't take up ten lines?

    Thanks.

I like the bright green, not so much on the duller green on the roof. Bright green surely not an original color (not insipid enough), don't know about the top. Very nice car, if reserve is below 20 grand, someone would get a good buy.

    Ok--thanks, I'll try it again.

How about the next Green Hornet on E-Bay--

Although I absolutely loathe most greens and the first one--not to offend anyone--but it would puke a turkey buzzard off a gut-wagon (as we say in Big Sky country), the '54 isn't too bad.

Is the 54 an original Hudson color? Is the interior green because in a couple photos it looks blue. You have to bear with me because I am color-blind and certain colors are worse than others--the greens and browns are a disaster.

This car looks like a very nice car. Is there anyone in the neighborhood who might take a look at it for me? I am interested in it but not without a third-party look.

JK - The exterior color is probably the original color, Pasture Green. This color was most usually the upper color, with Spring Green being the lighter bottom color. The interior would have been green, however, the seats are not covered in the original material. The original was a more reserved softer color combination. I have to agree, the car does appear to be a very nice package as it is. After all, in 55 years there is bound to be some wear showing in the interior, and whoever decided to have the seats recovered probably almost gave up trying to find a material that would blend with the original finish of the dash board and window reviel moldings.

  • For my tastes, lime green looks out of place on a Hudson restored to stock. Maybe the new owner can spin a yarn and tell people at car shows that it was a special order color. As for the 54, I find the color and patina much more appealing. At the moment, the price is right, too.
  • The 54 has power steering and power brakes. That is a very nice combo. I likey!

At diferent times I had two owned two 1954 Hornet sedans, one black with creme and the other maroon & creme, see pictures of both; they also had, Twin-H, power steering and power brakes and were nice driving cars.
