It's looking beautiful Brownie. Thanks for posting the pics, Bud. I think I could spend hours just looking at the odds and ends he's got.

Curious Brownie, do you have pictures of the finished car to use as reference or are you winging this? It's gonna be beautiful, regardless.

I have known the car for quite some time, and enjoyed seeing the car show up at local functions every now and then. When the car sold last october it was to a good friend. As it hit the restoration shop I would go with him and see the car as it was disassembled. When I got the car, yes, it was parts and stuff. Most of it was labeled (right front door hardware, etc.) but there were good photos taken during the disassembly. I have done a few frame-off builds but nothing that was wood framed. There was some great wood people that helped me with the "A", "B" and "C" pillars but from there on it was "cut-to-fit" and "paint-to-match." I had forgot how much fun it is to sit on a milk crate, look at a part and figure out where it went. When things fit there was a party (Nut Clusters and mint candy). When it did not fit there was more sitting and thinking. I figure with all the metal back on, I am about half way there? Bottom line.... I am having a ball and here is hoping it looks half decent when I finish?

    Brownie-

LOL!:D I know that feeling so well, I have several milk cartons placed strategically around the shop, just there is always a convenient one nearby.

I'm doing my resto (although probably much easier to figure out than yours) the same way, by pictures and networking, as this is my first full Hudson resto. I agree, though, it is just SO much fun. Wish I did it for a living, I love it so much. You should see me with this big bunch of parts I just got, I've been scratching my head all day on some of the stuff. Half the fun I think is figuring out what I've got. Or better yet, when I finally identify that funky little bracket that I had previously decided didn't go to my car, and then found that is indeed needed and not only that, it holds together the whim-whammer with the thing-a-ma-jig. WOO-HOO!

I'm havin' a hoot, too. Glad you are, too. And your car will be beautiful, I'm sure. Heck, it already is.

Man I look at all that chroming that has been done, you would have to have sat down when they gave you the bill, I know what I have spent on the 31 and theres no way as much as yours, the grill looks fantastic

Well done and lots of luck on the rest of the build, If I was over there I would have been able to help you with that, I ahve just made some rear tacking bows for a rare 37 chev cabrolia down here hours and hours worth, cut them all out of Indian Teak so they will never rot again

The chrome for my stepdown cost a lot more. I was supprised and a bit pleased that the cost was as low as it was. But all kidding aside, some "Builders" sell for less than the cost of the chrome. :):) I guess it is part of the fun of it....
