Coupes take a different set up than a sedan. Walt.

Sedans take 7 and the coupes take 6. From the end of the doors on the coupes, starts different bows. You may make them but the shape may not work. I have coupe bows. Walt.

Walt thanks for the information - think I have enough bows if I can figure out the correct order front to rear -mine were in a pile in the trunk, also where is a good place to get a headliner ?

Originally they were color coded or had a dap of color on the end...odds are though that the paint is probably faded off..... if you test fit it though you can usually figure it out.

I'm not sure about a place to get a headliner. We just took the original out carefully and seam ripped it and used the pieces for patterns against new modern headliner material and sewed those together and re-installed. This is of course assuming you have a headliner at all as an example.

Talk to Bill Albright, he may steer you in the right direction. Walt.
  • Last week I had headliner and windlace installed in my coupe, because I had too many of them mixed up from four door sedan and coupe it took a couple of minutes to figure out correct bows, hope to install interior sun visors, headliner stainless trim, dome and courtesy lights this week. Also painted rear end and gas tank, which were installed over the weekend.

  • Ray, looks like your making lots of progress , where did you get the headliner and windlace ? my roof was stomped in so far there wasnt much left , bows are all bent and no sign of a headliner .

    Good Morning Stateline,

I purchased material/wind lace from Charleston Upholstery Wholesale Supplies, located here in Las Vegas, NV. , then had George (upholstery mechanic who in the past did three other Hudson’s for me) cut, sew and install, before installation inner roof was sand blasted, primed painted and used aluminum heat-sound padded installation. Pity about your roof, I believe Hudson Motor Car Company could have used stronger guage sheet metal for roof? Little bit of assembly puzzle with coupe bows, especially in my case when I mixed up with sedan bows, but I am sure you'll figure it out.

My car is shaping up; I just placed huge order with Summit Racing for supporting parts, upon receipt will install parts and continue to go foward with restoration.

Just a note. Make sure you run a ground wire to one of the screws that bolt the gas gauge to the tank. Walt.

Thanks for good tip Walt, I believe Allen did already, however when I go to Logandale this week with gasket's, transmission, motor oil, brake fluid etc., I'll check again, if anyone needs gas tank that I had boiled out and in Dupont primer and sending unit, I have spare and can bring to Laughlin this year?
