Not sure how rare this is. My neighbor has a '49 with both. The C8 was top of the line except for the Conv. so it may have been more common than with some of the other models.0

This car is also radio delete... It's amazing to me .. that someone would order this car ( 8 , D/M, O/D, heater) and no radio ? I don't get it...0

My '50 C8 was the same, radio delete, SM (w/ OD of course) and heater. The story the woman I bought if from told me was that her aunt was a singer in the church choir and would sing when they drove so her uncle did not order a radio. I have since put a radio in the car but I also thought it was odd. I am not sure I could handle my wife singing while I drive!0

Harry54, it does seem odd that it has no radio especially loaded with everything else. I was surprised when I bought my 51 Pacemaker that it being the "cheapo" model it had a radio, heater, drivemaster and overdrive. I thought that the pacemaker was the economy model and usually was equipped accordingly. Live and learn I guess. Richie.0 -

Maybe if she and you do harmony? (Hum if you don't know the words...).
When we went for drives as a kid, my mom used to always sing songs to us, while riding shotgun and keeping an eye on us (big family, there were a lot of us...).
We had to have a radio, 'cause my sister and I would harmonize to the songs. We were especially good on Everly Brothers stuff. It stood by me- have been a "barbershopper" for 35 years. My three kids and I do some 4 parting whenever we get together (daughter sings tenor)- Christmas carolled around the neighborhood a couple years ago, got lots of cookies.0 -
At our small dealership in Ohio, it was very common for customers to order DriveMaster and Overdrive. Not at all uncommon for them to order without the radio - it was a totally different time back then fellows! By the early 50's, factory radios were often ordered by the used car customer for their "Like New" car with most likely less than 25,000 miles on it.
