Well folks, Walt will hit the road on June 21, heading to Goshen CT. only 3,300 miles. From there we head to Pontiac, MI. and hope to meet a lot of you fellows, then some side trips and plan to be back home by the second week in Aug. Just a short 10,000 mile trip. So please hold all messages till Aug. Just think, Hudson will now show 130,000 miles all in 11 years. Drive those Hudsons and show people what a hudson can do. Walt Mordenti, 1953 Hudson Hornet Club Coupe.

I give Walt the most credit for inspiring me in the few short years I've been a Hudson owner. You can have a nice car, but don't be afraid to drive it!

Walt, have safe travels and we'll see you on your 'return' trip, in Michigan.

By driving my car across this country is my greatest thrill. I've stopped at many auto shows while traveling and walked off with trophies. So far I have over 30 that I've collected. Some I refused, because I see kids that worked hard to make a good show and told them to give it to one of the kids. This statement I can prove. This car will never be a TRAILER QUEEN, TO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE. Walt.
  • Walt, I Could Not Have Sold That Car To A More Deserving Person, Enjoy It Forever, I Am Doing A 53 Coupe Now. Hope I Live Long Enough To Finish And Enjoy It, As Much As You Do, Bill Albright

Bill, it took me 5 years to restore it back to original and that is why I can travel this whole USA. Hope you get yours done and do some driving. Gas mileage with air condition is 20 to 22 on the open highways at high speeds. Walt.

Leaving San Francisco we pick up route 80 after the Bay Bridge, and pick up 81 north in PA., then pick up 84 east, then 22 north to route 4 which ends us up right to the house we stay at in Goshen, CT., 6 days, 3,300 miles. Thanks for the invites from you two but will have to put a hold on it for now. Merritt Pkwy, I drove that road when first opened in my 1931 8 B&S touring sedan then my 1938 Hudson 8. You brought back a few memories for me. Walt.

Walt - I'm Jealous! We were all set up and ready to leave on the 7th of July in our '50 Super 6 for the National and after that head down the east coast to S Carolina and Florida and then head back to Arizona, but health problems that started last year at Marlboro has finally caught with me and I'm scheduled for another surgery on June 25th. The doctor said maybe the Hudson should sit out this trip (including me) I'm bummed out as of any National to miss, this wasn't it! Also we wanted to add those other two states to our log that our Hudson has been in. We've done 44 states in the last 3 years and sure wanted to add the 2 others while we were on that side of the country. Those states will be there and we'll drive the Hudson there someday. We can't quite keep up with your milage - we drove our HUdson last summer from AZ to Calif (W. Regional) and then to the National to the tune of a meager 8,300 miles. Can't quite meet your annual 10,00 mile treks!!! Keep them going !

Have a GREAT Trip and your're right - the Hudsons are made to drive not ride on a trailer!! Keep those wheels rolling and Margret smiling!!! We look forward to hearing about your adventures on this years trip.

Our Hudson has covered every state and every highway. All east to west and all north to south along with all rural routes in between Walt. Routes 90 and 94 give you are to best for long drives between cities. Walt.
  • Walt knows his stuff and is an inspiration to us all. I am very lucky to have Walt as a close friend. I plan to travel with Walt and Margaret in My 53 Hornet soon. There is nothing better than a Hudson cruising down the road ! Have a Great Road Trip. Jeff

Sorry to hear that you will not travel this year but health comes first. Margaret and I are are lucky so far in that we still have our health. 87 and 88 and still hit the road in our Hudson. I guess it's because we take a vacation after our trips, Maui, Hawaii here we come. And for you Harry, I wish I still had those 2 cars. Walt.
