Why not do it yourself. It is a lot of fun... If you drop me a note at: brownie.petersen@atk.com I will send you an article that I wrote that explains the process and gives you brands and types of paint to use. A few days practice and you can do your own as well as the "so-called" pros.0

Won't do it myself, here are my first two reasons / excuses.... I start a new job on Monday and I am untalented.
I did get a couple names from the So Cal Woodie club so I will check them out tomorrow. I also spoke with Bill A. and we both knew of a guy in Long Beach but he never answers his phone.0 -
Here is an add in the Packard News Letter " Quality Wood Graining by Vic Stencel " Specializing in Packards. I have seen his work and it LOOKS Great and he has a great first name. (209) 522-81130

Neils, I met a guy at the San Diego Big 3 Swap Meet last year who does beautiful wood graining. He is in Long Beach. I will dig around in the garage and find his card and PM it to you.0

The So Cal Woody Club recommended a guy named Jaime at Nick Alexander's restorations. They also own a big BMW dealership here in L.A.
I took the pieces down there for an estimate and it is quite a place. Full blown restorations and specializing in Woodies and woodwork. He showed me his work which was outstanding. He also took the time to demonstrate how he does it. He gave me a quote of around $1,100 to $1,400. This was a bit less than another out of state quote I got AND I don't have to pack, pay and ship the pieces. He promised a two week turn around.
I'll post photo's when done.
As a side note, Jaime took me over to see the owners collection of Ford Woodies. He has one of every Ford woodie made from 1931 to 1952, plus a few other Fords. Every car was concourse. Amazing collection.0 -
Neils, it sounds like you found the right guy. I did find the card of the fellow I spoke to at the San Diego Big 3, he quoted me $2,500 for my '36T dash, but he was going to have to do it in the car. It doesn't sound like you need his info anymore.
I have seen photographs of that Woodie collection, it looks amazing! This guy is the Woody god of So CA!0
