I'm not too upset as his closing line reads:

"But there's still something about that Hudson…."

He also likes Japanese cars for their practicality and good workmanship as I do. I've got a 205kw Subaru WRX 4wd turbo that is a truly great car to drive as well as a mint original Datsun 510 SSS. They share the garage with the '33 ET8, '36 H8 and the '36T. I love them all.

I think the article was more a reflection of the writer's poverty and probable lack of mechanical repair skills at the time than anything else.

As a life long resident of Connecticut, I would like to personally apologize for the newspaper article written by Mr. Ahles. Having dealt with newspaper reporters in the past I can testify they don't always do there homework before writing their articles. Mr. Ahles is definitely guilty of this.

The saying goes "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. To me and members of my family, Hudson's are the most beautiful cars in the world. I'll be in Pontiac next month with my wife, sons and

a lot of my extended Connecticut Hudson family. We will have to take a family picture and email it to to Mr. Ahles. (Would it be in bad taste if we all extended our middle finger)

Yes it would. So, rather than risking possible embarassment, retract all but your middle finger. LOL
  • I wrote this poor guy a quick, rather good natured email, chastising him a bit for "trashing Hudsons".

He replied back saying he meant no harm and couldn't believe all the response he got from "Hudson fanatics".

He did'nt come right out and apologize, but I can tell he feels he stirred up a "Hornets nest!"

It really feels good to be part of such a tight bunch...slim:)

In all fairness to the author, y'all gotta read the article  - Granted, his comments concerning Hudsons are incorrect, unsubstantiated, and have no basis in fact... And, there is no proof that he actually was drafted, but the article does say that he sold the Hudson because he was drafted into the Army...

About mid way down the article - quoted in part:

"... I was able to keep the car running until I was relieved of the need for private transportation by being drafted into the Army a year later."

I read that....just that IMHO, being 2-S during the real fighting in Korea...smacks hard against the rubbish this guy put out during the entire Bush Bashing era. This is not the first crack-pot story from Mr. Ahles. He is a media wonk that makes little or no effort to do research on his topics. Great quotes, such as "He will always be the torture President to me." reflects the depth of thought Ahles applies to his work. He's a bum my book. :p

Not exactly thrilled with the links you show on your signature... They most likely violate the forum policy - in some way, shape or form.

From appearances, your posts are just a 'way' to attempt to get your links shown here - IMO...

Web Admin - Please look closely at this person's postings and signature 'links'...

Thanks for the note....we zapped that account. We are sorry these type of posts get through our security. We have a security update scheduled for the 4th of July weekend. That should help reduce these crazy posts. Thanks again!!:D
