Not Hudson, worth a look

Went to this place last year, he builds replica Spitfires at 90%of full size.
Two engines are used, a supercharged V6 Honda & I think it is a LS3 Chev.
It is available in kit form for you to assemble at if I can remember correctly
$170,000 Aus. & $270,000 to fly away. There are more pics & will post more later if anyone is interested.

After a career in the Air Force my love for airplanes is right up there with Hudsons. Do you think we could get one of these with a 308 Twin H setup?:):)0

Never mind a 308 Brownie - there was, in the 1930's, a 212 put in an light aircraft and it performed quite well. The aircraft was, digging deep into what little is left of my memory, a Curtis Robin, as I recall.
That is an awesome project - and the fellow is doing a beautiful job. If I were a pilot with bucks to spend I wouldn't mind having one of those in my hanger. After all restoration of a full model could, and probably would, run in the high six figures, if not into 7 figures.
Guess I'll stick to building balsa models. Sigh.

Wow! Just over a quarter of a million bucks for a 90% scale replica of a Spitfire is a bargain. Bear in mind that probably close to 200 flying original North American P-51 Mustangs still exist and they're commanding "big bucks" in the seven figures range. I bet less than 15 flyable original Supermarine Spitfires of any mark are still around. Hence, imagine what a "Spit" is now worth. If I had a little more disposable money, I'd consider purchasing one of these to take on any replica Heinkel HE-111 or Junkers JU-88 German bombers! And yes, I do have a pilot's license.0

I may buy 10 of these to form my own "Hudson Ace Air Squadron" I am looking for qualified aces only please. We will join the air circuit at car shows though we will will strafe any non Hudson car. The crowd will love it, the owners of course will not understand our biased bravado.0
