Need Photo of 1935 Terraplane dashboard

I just recently acquired a 1935 Terraplane and am looking for photos of the interior, especially the dash so I can see what it is supposed to look like and so that I know what I'm looking for. I am posting a photo here if I am successful so you can see the dash of the car I have. Thanks in advance for any help I might get here.

Wow, what a project. Looks like you are in for a lot of fun. Will be great to see this one back on the road. Do you figure three years?
  • Three years is probably realistic, I was hoping for two.

I am looking forward to the project. Never thought I'd find one here in Fairbanks, Alaska

Here is a photo....its a hot rod, but the dash looks unchanged from original, but probably restored:

Google or Yahoo "1935 Terraplane" images...that where I got this.

    Good luck on that car!

I think the instrument cluster on a '34-5 are the same.

They are virtually interchangeable, but '34 models have a water level gauge as well as the fuel level.

    Geoff.
  • Thanks to everyone that replied! What a great group of people in this forum. I had already found that speedometer on ebay and I especially appreciate the photos of instrument panels. Sure helps to see what it was supposed to look like so I can decide what to do with my project.

I hope to be as helpful to others as you have been to me. Good Luck everyone! I will post photos of my project as I go along. I'll probably put up a web page showing my progress as well.

May I suggest that you invest in a parts manual for 1935, if you find one. It's well worth the money. Also, 1935 sales literature will show you photos of the car. From this, you can work up a "wish list" and then send it out to various Hudson vendors (such as those you find advertising in the WTN). This way, you'll begin to get a feel for what sort of prices you may have to pay for parts. Then you can shop intelligently. The stuff isn't quite so scarce as you might think, so you may be able to save money by shopping around. In general, the parts having to do with the drive train, are a whole lot more plentiful and cheaper, than body parts. Chrome and sheet metal will be the hardest to find but, even so, there is still new-old-stock stuff out there, even for the '35's. Last fall at a Hudson flea market, rummaging around in a cardboard box, I managed to find a brand new license plate light for my '37, for only $10.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have one question though, what is the "WTN" you mentioned? How do I get it? I assume from the letters that it might be some sort of newsletter?

Newsletter?!!?? Ha ha ha ha ha. :D Nope, only the finest bi-monthly club magazine in the world, with the awards to back up the claim. WTN stands for White Triangle News, the name of the club magazine. Our illustrious editor is here on the forum, perhaps we can get him to send you a copy.

The name of our great club is the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club or HET club for short. For more info, check this out:

Best thing you'll ever do in your newfound Hudson life, is join the club. As far as making contacts, searching for parts, finding Hudson vendors and sharing in your Hudson passion with others that have the same affliction, . . . er, affection, you just can't go wrong.

These are pic's from my 35 Special G which is the base model. I believe the better models also had a temperature gauge and another guage, possible AMP's. If the pictures didn't upload I'll try emaling them to you.
