Jet Twin H
I have the chance to aquire a twin H set up for my Jet, It is complete, plus the carbs have been rebuilt.:D I am going to trade a rebuilable Crosley engine for it. :rolleyes:What i want too know is, are the carbs a problem to keep running correctly?
because if I am going to have to adjust the carbs eveytime I drive, i don't want too fool with it.
Thanks, Barry Smedley

Barry-
Hard to say, without knowing what went into the "re-build" on the carbs, but GENERALLY speaking, no, you don't have to adjust a properly tuned Twin-H any more than you would a single carb. Do the adjustments (which don't take very long) when you do your tune-ups. I usually do a minor adjustment like setting points, checking filters, etc. every oil change and a full tune-up every 7500- 10K miles. Twin-H set-ups are very well engineered and very reliable with proper maintenance. I'd say go for it. You'll get a little more power, and can't beat the look. MPG's are minimal differences (especially with a non-daily driver).
What's to lose when there's so much to gain?0 -
Barry - I have owned my Super Jet for 44 years, and the twin H gives no more problem than would a single carb. My car will ruin all day at 60 to 70 mph and give me 25 to 27 MPG.
