A seemingly quite original, but typical "Rust Belt" '54 SW H just put into eBay, right up Ken Cates "alley" so to speak, LOL.
Would appear to have never been painted, orig. uph., and looks like it has the Borg Warner tranny.
Ken, get your trailer ready, it's in Ohio, right on the way to Pontiac, LOL!

As you say typical rust belt car... I am trying to get more information as to how bad the rust really is. Many of these rusty cars are repairable, just ask Large Paul. It is definately a CUT and PASTE job looking for someone with a check and a welder. LOL////
Have a Great 4th Peter.0 -

Let's see, Texas, Ohio and . . . . Washington State. Nope. Don't think that one's on the trail. Dan, maybe you should pick up and move east a little.0 -

LOL - but not really
I've lived in Washington State my entire life, and do still consider it a beautiful place to live. Within 2 hours drive I can be at the ocean, mountains or desert!
But, as I've gotten older - and more conservative - I find the liberal politics here combined with the population growth and cost of living are not to my taste.
In fact one of the reasons I wanted to get back into hot-rods was to put a car together and travel the country to meet people and find a place to move to that's more in-line with where I'm at in my life now and is CHEAPER TO LIVE!
But - that goal has to be on the back-burner for now...no (running) car, no money and hanging by a thread IS the change I didn't vote for!0 -
I might suggest Az., & specifically Prescott - at over 5000' nice climate, LOTS of car activities (8 clubs in a town of 40,000). "conservative" Rep. state inc. legislature, Gov., & of course McCain, very right wing newspapers generally speaking. Pretty active Grand Canyon Chapter based in Phoenix. Housing absolutely "cheap" compared to Calif., not sure about comparison to Wash.0

Sounds like a great place to checkout - now, added to my list of places to visit!0 -

Dan - Prescott very interesting, founded during the Civil War as was a mining town, was territorial capital prior to Az. becoming a state with over 500 historic homes & buildings. Lots of activities, & as a county seat has big hospital, active senior center (new), lakes, hiking, neat big old stone courthouse with trees. 4th of July (now) their BIG week with oldest rodeo in the country, parades, etc.
With practically no 4 lane roads, no straight or flat roads, perfect for old cars & many driven by enthusiasts. Cruise nights, etc.
Also NO smog laws or checks on ANY vehicle due to clean clear mt. air, low population, unlike here in Phoenix where they even "smog" motorcycles!0
