Bakersfield is kinda like the wife's oven. Bakes the paint off the cars and the morning dew wets the raw metal creating a patina that can be light rust... but most of the cars found there are rust free with all the stuff that breaks down in heat ruined. While in Ca my friend and I got many a Hudson coupe and sedan from the Bakersfield area. Never found a rusted one.

Sorry to say this but, I looked at this car last week. It's quite rusty.

It spent many years sitting in the moutains near Glenville.

I was still tempted to get it for parts if had some where to put it right now.

Since I don't have extra room I passed on it.

It's so hard to walk away from one when you find one.

Maybe we should collect our ideas from across this big country and figure what would be an estimated worth of rusted out Hudson vehicles in term of parts.

Maybe divide the vehicle into groups, say drive train, stainless, interior, body parts?

May need to subdivide the drive train, maybe by the three major components.



I just brought home a 49 Com coupe, with 3 sp w/OD, some stainless good, some damaged, floorboards bad/gone, engine stuck, but it's all there.

What do you think? Part it out, scrap the rest?

Engine 262 ? With Alum head and intake?

trans 3 sp /OD?

rear?

Glass good, driver broke?

All fenders rusted, some paint still there, no dents?

Doors rusted, some paint there, no dents?

Chrome/stainless needs finishing/polishing?

Seat springs rusty, but still covered?

Dash, excellent?

Hood, hard to open, some paint but rusted?

Passenger side frame some rust?
