in OCW received today, subject car, rated as a 4 (best a 1, worst a 5) referred to as a "barn find in late 1940's", so I assume is unrestored but largely original, brought $91,000 at a Conn. auction last month. Nice large photo of it.

This was Hudson's version of a Stutz Bearcat & other high end/high performance cars of the era. If you've not seen one, which would be expected due to their extreme rarity, they sport a monocle windshield & a huge gas tank right behind the seats. No doors. I believe this was the only year this model offered & called that. A "mile-a-minute", or 60 mph on those tires & roads was a rather risky affair, LOL!

yep, that's it (same front lic. plate).

From that photo I'd have to assume my prior assume of being original not correct as am sure it would have had black leather seats not red, anyway, sure a neat looking car, right?
  • Cool ride! I've always liked the Stutz Bearcat, and was not aware of the Hudson incarnation.

Inspired by Barney Olfield (sp?) I met a guy who had the engine and trans to one claimed to have the body too but I only saw the engine.
