National cruise-ins.THANKS

TO all those who attended the International meet in Pontiac. Thanks for coming! We all had a good time, got to meet with people we have not seen in some time. We tried something different this time and I am looking for feedback. We had a cruise-in listed for almost every evening , just for something different to do. It may be encouraged if you liked it, or not included next time if you didn't. I know in most cases the maps to the cruise-ins were gone so I can assume people went to the cruise-ins. Let me know if you liked them or not, or what can be improved about them.

Anyway, thanks for comin' to Pontiac. Because you did, we all had a great time.

Hello, thanks for hosting and other things provide for us. We like cruise ins, but did not see any flyers about the ones at Pontiac. We arrived on Sat after the interstate traffic jam, but were there Sun, Mon, Tues, and left after the tech sessions on Wed. Did not see any flyers around the host hotel the whole time we were there. I had the dates and where the cruise ins were. Not familiar with that area. Sorry, where were they left?? Bob
  • Thanks for saying hello, to you and your wife, I made it and made it home too, and thanks to the gentlemen that helped me get the car back on my trailer, just a wonderful meet, I enjoyed all three days that I could attend. Being so close, if there are any other meets you have, please let me know. have a few to go to here as some of school chums are attending and they would like me to show up if I can. By the way no problems at customs going both ways

    Thanks Peter (Sarnia)

Notices of what was going on were hard to find - it was Tuesday before I found the posting at the entrance to the host hotel. And that was by accident - an 8½ x 11 piece of typewritten paper on a small bulleltin board is hard to see sometimes.. Info on what was where in larger format would have been better, I think. I don't recall if info on the cruise-in's was on that info sheet.

Otherwise it was a great national with little to b*^#h about. :D

  • Bob, so sorry you missed the cruise-ins. The info board for the cruise-ins was next to the regestration table, it was a 2 foot by 3 foot board brightly colored sign at eye level with a 4 foot by 4 foot map of the county next to it. The directions to each cruise-in (one every day) were on a pin attached to the big sign. All the fliers were gone by evening so I assumed people went to the cruise-ins and I was just looking for feedback. New fliers were attached to the new sign every morning. Maybe next time.

Fair winds, and remember, keep yer powder dry.

First and foremost I would like to thank you and all of the folks that worked so hard to put on what was the best National ever! We had a great time and the accommodations were super.

You also had the foresight to pick a week when the weather was perfect! :D

We stumbled upon the Thursday Night Cruise in Ypsilanti after we had dinner in the cafe across the street from Miller Motors. It was terrific! They had a section of street 2 blocks long filled with cars and oldies music and later on they had live music. The PA system was in the middle of the street because there was no other place to put it because of all the cars! Somebody must have found the info for this cruise because a Hudson showed up just before we left to return to Pontiac.

No one can expect perfection at a meet the size of a National. Every now and then something won't work out the way it was planned. Perhaps the folks that put on the next National in Spokane will take heed and make sure that the info is front and center for everyone to see.

We signed in Mon. morning and didnt return to check the board but as others said, it was all good(cars, flea market, hotels, local food, friends, etc) Wish we had more tech sessions, especially enjoyed the clutch, overdrive, and rescue sessions.

The instructors were great. Thanks, Bob
