That would be rare with a Packard motor in it. Hell, it's probably the only one!

I may be wrong, but I think the Packard V8 was fairly common in the '56's- Seems like all the independents were clearing out their inventory of extra stuff (hence all the Wasps with 212's- underpowered for that size car, but gotta do something with all those 212's!). '55 or '56 was the last year of the big Packards, after which they were all "Packabakers", and didn't need the big engines.

If the car is truly a '56 Hornet Holywood Special, it would have had a 250 ci AMC V8, and I doubt that the Packard V8 would have fit in the engine compartment! As to the engine used in the '55 & '56 Wasps, it was the 202 ci Jet engine from the '53 & '54 Hudson compact Jet. Any that I drove in from the zone warehouse lot had good power, and was very economical for a car that size (most of which had the OD trans).

I learn something new every day, Hudson-related. There's one more for today. Makes my previous post not nearly as funny, though.
