great Hudson day

Just returned from a really nice car show run by a Baptist Church in Ewing, NJ. It was my first time there and my 53 Hornet Club Coupe got the warmest reception! In fact, it was selected from over 100 cars for the Pastor's Choice Award. He reminisced about riding in Hudsons as a kid, as did many of the show attendees. Somehow there seems to be an emotional connection to our Hudsons.
Then I drove home past the site of the 1995 National and remembered the day I stumbled across that meet, purely by accident. I had trailed a gorgeous maroon 51 convertible that ignited a spark that made me long for a Hudson of my own. Now I have mine and could not be enjoying it (and the reactions it gets) more!
Hudsonly,
Bill

There are few things better than a Good Hudson Day. Congrats., its what the hobby is about sharing your car with others.

Today was my good Hudson day, at Hamilton Ohio. The make Hudson was featured and spectators had genuine interest in the marque.

I answered many questions about my car. Also, I was asked to bring my 37H8 to a concours in Cincinati next year. And I was given 1st place in class trophy.

Best of all in the parade around the city were all the pictures taken and children happy to see the cars.

Hey Sheldon- Sounds like a fantastic day. It's a great feeling to get our Hudson's and Essex's out there among ALL the OTHER cars and be noticed. Congtrats on the invite and trophy and keep having fun with that car!

Bill and Sheldon, congratulations on your good Hudson days. Were these two of the fine cars at the Nationals? Lee
  • No. Lee, I didn't make it to the Nationals. The closest I've come is that accidental drive-by I did in Princeton in '95 long before I acquired my Hornet. Bill

Today is my great Hudson day. It was not showing my car, but finding my missing horn trim ring. For three years I have been searching for a horn trim ring for my 47 pu, At the natlionals, Perry Spring found and bought a horn trim ring for me. I safely packed it in my suit case, between my pants, for the trip home. When unpacking and putting away the clothes the ring was nowhere to be found. It was discourageing to loose something that moments before I was so happy I had a part that took so long to find. This morning when I pulled a T shirt from my dresser, out fell the horn trim ring. That made my great Hudson day! Lee

It has really come to surprise me how often finding that much needed Hudson part has just "made my day". Not a little part, but I spent the better part of the last 3 years looking for a genuine set of wire wheels--- just recently acquired them, which actually more like made my month. At the Nat'l. I discovered that I'm still missing the inner ashtray cup that goes on the stepdown convertibles in the rear seat, so a new hunt begins!! Oh, the joy of the hunt and the fabulous day that will come when the part is in my hands!
