How does forum track posts

Not that I'm really keeping track, or trying for any certain number, but I noticed yesterday that all the posts I'd made on the '47 for sale site, showed the same number - 572, even though I'd made a half - dozen or so on that thread.

Today, it shows 574 on all the posts, so its gone up by two, but it still dosen't make sense to me just yet., since I think I made more than two since yesterday.

Does the forum automatically track "posts" as the number of threads started by a member, or is it tracking replies, comments, etc. (which could be quite a few on a particular thread.)

If it's "threads" started, how the heck do some Guys get their totals up in the thousands? Must be quite a gabber !! :)

Just wondering. Maybe I've missed something here.

  • Ooop - it went up by one when I made the above post - so maybe I've answered my own question.

Forum must be tracking numbber of "threads" started by a member, but then how did it advance "two" from 572 to 574 when I didn't start a new thread in between, and then one more with this thread ??

AAhh -- the world loves a mystery.

( ahhaahh -- maybe I have to use my "handle" - "silverone" to click the meter!) Sometimes I sign off with my real name - Ryan.

Waddayya know - went up another click with this one -- maybe I should just shut up before I get myself in trouble !
