How can I determine how many 1946 Commodore 8-cylinder Coupes were built?

Are production numbers on the web somewhere? If so, I'd appreciate the reference.

Thanks

    Jim,

There is, at this time, no known source breakdown by body style for any year Hudson.

The only break-down that I know of is a model year production run by serial number & month of manufacture list that I have in my General Information Handbook.

    Jim-

And that about sums it up. If Alex can't get the #'s, then they either, or should I say, most likely, don't exist. Unless of course, they are still hiding in the top of some former Hudson secretary's closet. :) . . . which I personally am continuously hoping for.

Never mind that secretary hiding old Hudson records in a closet - I'm still looking for that guy that went to work for Hudson at the age of 15 or 16, in 1912 or 1913, and whose job until he retired in 1954 was to dispose of all the old Hudson records - and instead of filing them in the local landfill he stored them, carefully, in his barn.

Of course he'd be around 113 years old by now, so I hope his kids realized what he had and are hanging on to it.

If we only knew which land fill.
  • I know we are supposed to be following the original thread, but since others have mentioned old stuff, I have some old photos of train stations across North Alabama, before they closed them. Probably 20-30 8 X 10s. Maybe someday somebody will want them. Bob

I guarantee you, there's somebody out there that wants them or has been looking for decades. A lot of times, even model railroaders (or wanna-be model railroaders, like me . . . maybe in retirement) can use items like this. I have thousands of photos of freight cars from the '30's-50's for modeling purposes. Heck, even the Library of Congress might be interested.
