1937 H or T Outside Mirror
To whomever was just bidding against me on the Ebay mirror (and anyone else with a '37 H or T): if the mirror (which fits in the door hinge) turns out to be the correct "factory" one, I'm open to re-making these "at cost" for anyone who's interested. I have a friend who could probably do it, assuming we could find a similar mirror from a new or NOS universal-fit "peep" mirror. He's extremely talented, is semi-retired, and tends to undercharge for his services!
If anyone already has an authentic '37 exterior mirror I'd be grateful if you could get in touch so I could confirm that the one I just won, is the right one.

Jon,
How different would the 36 be?0 -
Might be exactly the same; I'd need to get a description of the '36 and some measurements! And of course, I need to obtain the one I just won in the auction, to check it!
Here's the auction, if you haven't already seen it. Hit the "supersize" button for an enlarged view of the mirror. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUDSON-CAR-TRUCK-1937-REAR-VEIW-MIRROR-SIDE-MOUNT_W0QQitemZ260470954889QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ca5475b89&_trksid=p4506.c0.m2450 -
I just won the 1937 terraplane truck hood ornament from the same guy!! these are hard to get!! needed the grill emblem too, but lost that auction.0

I'd think that the '36 would be very different, because '36 are suicide doors while '37 is not (might make a big difference since Jon said in his post that the mirror fits in the door hinge).
But I was wondering the same thing - basically how '36 handled the mirrors (if they even did) . . .
bellbigdawg - is the '37 pickup hood ornament the same as (or at least similar) to the '36's? I've got a '36 pickup that currently has the passenger-car style, and might be interested in a copy if it's possible. barring that - good pics and measurements?0 -
