Gas Tank for my 47 PU

I ordered a gas tank from Frantic Fred Hot Rod. Monday my new gas tank arrived for my 47 pu. It is not a reproduction of the orginal tank. The one I chose, manufactured by Tanks, Inc., was a steel reproduction for 52 - 53 Chevy.



The tank has dual capability for either carburated engine or fuel injected engine with an internal electric fuel pump option, and the price was affordable $195 + tax & shipping.



The filler kneck, at the fender is slightly smaller than the original. K Gap is bringing a couple of filler kneck gaskets to San Simeon this weekend so I can check the fit. Or I may end up fitting the original filler kneck to the tank.



The other tank I was considering was Tank's reproduction for 41 -48 Ford which allows an extra 1 gal of gas. From the catalog these two were the closest to fit Hudson's PU, manufactured by Tanks, Inc.

A little bit each day and it will get done. Oh, last weekend I was given needed windshield glass, and it is green tinted glass. Much thanks to Ron for the gift, and to Val Smith for the interior sun vissors.
