Generator electrical out-put

I started the English Hudson last night and was very excited about how nice the engine sounds. Tweked the idle a bit and it was quiet and purring like a kitten. Cannot describe the excitement. I am told that the car has about 15K on the engine and that it was built by Harrah's in Nevada in the early 2000's. Blew a bunch of rust out of the tail pipe when it started up. It is good to have it running after just about a year in the shop. I did check the voltage being put out by the generator and it read 6.8. I thought I read somewhere that it should be at 7.0. Any thoughts on this?

----my 2 cents--as long as it's anything over 6 not to worry , other than that check amps , that's what keeps it charged up --BUD
