:confused:I read on a thread the other day that to properly set the timing on the Hudson Hornet, ignore doing the compresion stroke on number 1 and do it on number six. The wiring to the plugs will be the same. Now does this apply to all stepdowns? if so, I have been doing it wrong for years and they still ran well. My '49 Super Six has a slight miss, could it be that I did the compression strroke on number one instead of number six/ I have never seen or heard mention before that Hudsons were different in this respect. Firing order is still 153624 and number one is near one o clock. Maby I am just confused. Thanks for setting me straight. Arnie in Nevada

You can do it on either, it won't make any difference.
  • Glad you brought that up because i think that confused a few people besides yourself, best to stick with number one cylinder keep it simple. Chuck G
