Good night at the cruise in

I took the Hash to the cruise in tonight, the first for me this year. I got it in my head at the beginning of the year that I didn't want to go again until I fixed the windows. So I missed most of them and still didn't have the windows fixed. So this month I decided to heck with it I wanted to go again. I gave her a bath but didn't get her rubbed out and waxed in time but I went anyway. While I was there I talked with a local Hudnut named Jim Frisch. We were talking when he asked me if I knew who owned the 53 Hornet parked away from the lot. I didn't but I decided to park at my car until the owner came by knowing a Hudson owner would stop to talk. It took a couple of hours but eventually a gentleman asked me if I owned the Hornet and then if I belonged to the local CICHET. I told him I did and he told me that was funny because he had never met me. I had to tell him I hadn't attended any meetings. He introduced himself, his name is Irv and he lives down near Palm Springs, about 50 miles away. We talked a bit and then he left. His headlights glowing about as brightly as mine do, 6 volts on low beam don't exactly blind you. I guess I need to start attending some meetings as he is a real nice guy, he asked me to try to attend the economy run. That's funny because the Hash doesn't know what economy means. It sounds like fun though, I might give it a try.

    Harry,

I am a long time member of the CICHET. I live in San Diego so so it can be quite a drive for me (depending on where the meet is being held), but I try to go to as many meets as I can. The drive is always worth it. A really great bunch of people that I really enjoy seeing.

Look forward to seeing you at one of the meets,

  • Michael, I don't have a good excuse for not going. I work a lot of Saturdays but I could go to a pot luck meeting. Not knowing anyone kind of holds me back a bit but I'm not really that shy so it's not a good excuse. Usually I just don't want to go out again after I get home from work. I should come meet some of our members though, just to be sociable.

  • Harry, you should try to make it to the Laughlin meet. With members attending from California, Arizona and Nevada - it's like a mini regional meet. We average 35-40 Hudsons every year. Lots of fun!

Harry, I understand the feeling of working all day and then just wanting to come home... Many of the events take place on Sunday though. Also, you might want to try attending a Board meeting at the Springs. As you can see in the Newsletter, it is once a month and usually on a thrusday evening. There is plenty of food and good Huson talk and everyone will make you feel glad that you came. Wish I could attend that more, but being in the evening and living in San Diego, makes it quite a trip for me. - Michael
