hi can anyone help me with a small problem i have? i just bought a 54 hudson hornet and would like to know what size engine it has or should have on the cylinder head it says i think 262 power dome but according to books i have read it should have a 308 maybe they just put any engine in there as they were about to merge with rambler any thoughts on this thanks Barry

    More than likely, someone put 262 head on a 308 to increase compression. Look on bottom of block aboVe oil pan for 1" REINFORCING RIB AROUND BLOCK. iF IT HAS RIB, IT IS A 308.
