That's a lot of money for a truck that needs restored. I'd be real surprised . . . well, maybe not . . . if he sold it.0

Well, there are some things that don't seem original/missing to me . . . he says the bed floor is diamond plate, but the original style (as far as I understand it) was corrugated steel - like today's truck bed floors. It doesn't have most of the interior upholstery (panel on the back of the cab and headliner, at least), either. Other than that I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if anything else is in question.
Question on the heater - is that a stock '36 truck heater or was it adapted from a car? I'm wondering cause my '36 truck has a heater as well under the passenger-side dash, but it's totally different than what he's got (the doors on mine are vertical and hinged in the center, where-as his heater doors are horizontal and hinged at the top - and has "Hudson" on it). Be nice to know if mine is original or aftermarket. My firewall is also slightly different than his - the heater hoses on mine are vertical in nature (one on top of the other), where it looks like his heater hoses enter on either side of the coil (which my coil isn't mounted near there, then again I've also got a set of horns on the firewall in that area. Don't know if those are original or if Hudson only used the fender-mounted style).0 -
If I had the money and my wife would allow me to purchase another
Hudson. I would pay $40,000 for the convertible at Hershey before I would pay $30,000 for this truck. Both are rare vehicles. The convertible looks like a much better candidate for restoration, or as a survivor car.0 -
I actually saw this truck two weeks ago in Newport Beach. It is a very nice truck, all there. I didn't hear it run. The owner is a club member and he has acquired many rare accessories for it, such as the crank hole cover. He has modified the seats to make it easier for a tall person. As far as the heater goes, if you consult the Terraplane Restoration Manual that Press Kale put together some years ago (available from KGap) it lists at least 3 heaters as being correct for a '36T. I own a '36T sedan, so I don't know about details for the truck. Considering that the truck needs paint and body work, the price seems high. It is a rare truck!0

Here is one seen at a Newcastle Australia car show a few weeks ago, another one from a sedan to a ute. Owner unknown. I'm told it is still running the original 3x5 motor.0

The truck is back on with new prices. I'd pay that price for it if I had the extra cash on hand, but sadly, life, family, and economy prevents it. All in all, that's still a great survivor, nice solid condition, and should either remain that way or restoration. I have been known to do a little roddin to cars but I swing both ways:p, I also have original cars that will always remain original or restored stock. Yes, the Rarerodder is saying, "some are just too rare to rod!"0

No bids the last time...
Back again, this time with an opening price of $24k, and a BIN of $25k.
If the seller really wants to sell it, they should put a price of $10k (no reserve) on it -
Think of it as a 'catch & release'...

I agree. The more times you list it like this, 1) the more desperate you seem and 2) The less credibility you and/or your vehicle has.
Even at 15K with no reserve, I'm sure he'd sell it. Now's just a tough time to be getting top dollar.0 -
I'm going on four years and I'm almost finished getting my 36 truck completed. $24,000 doesn't sound to bad if it is rust free, not beat up, and most the parts are usable. It may not be to far off of being a good deal. 36 parts are a bear to find, especially those that are truck specific, like the hood ornament. But if the bed is beat up or the floor boards are rusted, engine stuck, etc, then it's not worth it.
As most of the guy's that have done 1936 cars or trucks will tell you, about the only thing that will interchange with another year model are the spark plugs! Just my 2 cents.0 -
If he keeps the trend up, I'm just going to wait until the starting price is $2,250 and a BIN of $2,350. Then I can save the 20K for restoration.:D0
