Just wondering what manifolds/carborator combinations are available for the Hudson 8 cyl engins. I know only of one?

  • Brownie, I know of two manifolds for the Hudson 8 engine. (34-35-36) small port engines use one single throat carb (W1 or WA-1) (37 to 52) large port engines use one dual throat carb (WDO or WDG) I have two after market intake manifoldsfor Hudson 8 large port engines. One is a EDMONDS that mounts two dual throat carbs (WDO or WDG) and the other is a LINVILLE which mounts two single throat carbs (WA1 or Zenith 228) Hope this can help you. RAILTONLY buzz

    Thanks,

I would guess from what you are saying that my 36 is a small port and the single carb is all that was available for the engine?
  • Yes Brownie that is correct. I know of no manifolds for small port engines other than stock or custom made. About 15 years ago I built a log type manifold for small port engine that mounted two SU side draft 1 3/4 carbs but never completed it. I later came to realize it would not work the way I built it because of the siamesed intake ports on the Hudson 8 engine.
