Be very careful dealing with this seller. I bought a NOS stainless for a rear fender on a 48-49. He shipped it in a box that about 2" SHORTER than the part. Of course it looked like a mangled piece of garbage upon arrival. He blamed it on the Post Office department. I did get my money back, but the guy really scammed the government..I'll be happy to send a picture of the part and box to backup my statement.

I had the same problem with a 51-53 rocker stainless piece from this guy. He wrapped cardboard around it and taped it up. When it arrived to me, it was completely worthless. When I asked him "why did you mail it like that instead of sending it in PVC?" He told me that nobody wants to pay the extra amount....

I got a 54 coupe rear quarter molding from him. It was packed in a 4" heavy cardboard shipping tube of adequate length. It was a couple months ago, so perhaps he's changed his practices.

When I shipped one I actually made a little coffin type box from 1x3s and plywood and screwed it together. Got to Randy Maas just fine!

Well, I'm sorry to hear this, as I identify parts for him, including the current one on E-Bay (name's Len Kasper), and have bought a few pieces from him as well, and have not had a problem.

I've been through the bad packaging on trim pieces, as well, from another seller. Trim piece (it was NOS) cut through the tape on the end of the tube and the PO couldn't get it back in all the way, so they pulled it out, folded it in half and stuffed it back in the tube!!

I'll send Len an e-mail to let him know of people's discourse and try to persuade him of better packaging, i.e., PVC tube. I've complained about his small out-of-focus pictures before and he started posting slightly bigger ones.

For the record, anyone ordering delicate trim pieces should really request PVC from the seller. Even better is plywood ends that are screwed in from the side . . . that's the only way I ship them.
  • If the seller does not have the opportunity to provide the PVC... make up the shipping container and send it with post paid return shipping documents inside the container. I have three different PVC shipping tubes with screw on caps that I tape with heavy strapping tape. Since using these have never had a bent or lost piece of trim... to me the scarcity of these parts is worth the insurance the tube provides.
