Hi all, have rebuilt the Edelbrock crate engine failure, I worked to 1am last night on the old girl, so i can take her to the 100 anniversary down under, still got about another 8-10 hours to make her back presentable, but the new engine is starting to do what it should, I still think there is still a problem in the carb (AVS carter) we will give it 1 more shot for an hour or so tonight and if cant get it were we think it should be, have been offered a Holley on a similar sort of engine setup to try and run on for the weekend, the old story 1 step forward and a couple back

Hope you get her going Mike! Please post some pics of the show. Anyway, getting another carb shouldn't be a problem, except for linkage issues, but hopefully that all there is and you get running. You should post a short clip on youTube when she's running nice so we all can see and hear it!

Hey Jay got there to the meet, you could here a pin drop when we arrived at the vintage car club with all 8 cylinders throbbing, ended up the only hot rod out of the 97 cars that turned up, ended up getting a prize for Rebel with a cause LOL, she ran like a dream, this was the 1st time she had stomped the streets since 1945, managed to get about 150 miles on her, we were lucky that we had a set of dealer plates to run on otherwise we wouldn't have been able to do the mileage, my friend Paul is going to get them again this weekend so we can get a few more miles on them, By the time we left the r4un we had received a lot of respect back from even most of the purists as once they had gone over her they could see the thousands of hours that was put into her and all the special details that were hidden
I would like to thank all the people that were there and all the comments as it wasvery uplifting

Sounds like you had a great time and turned many heads! See folks, you can have a custom and still turn heads. I think even many purists, when hearing a nice sounding hot rod engine, still secretly wish they had that uder their gas pedal! lol Please, post a video on youTube of her, I and probably most here, want to hear it roar and see it take off. Best of luck Mike and you got a real cool ride!0

Just testing to see what time it shows this getting posted. I just read jsrail's posting at 9:08 AM, and it says he posted it at 10:26 AM- methinks somebody changed their clocks the wrong way.0

It could just be us Mike, we have this weird thing about never changing our clocks, so half the year we are one hour out-of-sync with the rest of the planet. lol0
-
For all you guys up there we are in daylight saving so we moved our clocks back 1 hour to get the most out of the day and go further ahead of you guys LOL

Don't tease me mate! I'm dying to move down your way!0
