Stepdown radiator hose update
I dug up some pictures of a lower hose I used on a 54 with power steering that had an A/C compressor mounted on the passenger (rt.) side. The drive belt wanted to cross where the lower hose was. It's been in use about 3 years now. All I had to do is cut 1 1/4" off the top end. The upper end has a perfect bend to bring the hose back towards the engine away from them belts. Advance Auto parts number C71302 . It is a tight fit on both radiator and waterpump but it works. As you can see..It looks like it was made for the application.
The upper hose I used was Advanced Auto Parts B70081 with no alteration. The raiator is pushed forward to help clear the heavy duty 6 blade fan. I suppose one would have to trim the top hose a bit if the radiator was back towards the waterpump.

Walt here. I have my radiator also all the way forward, air compressor on the right side along with my rack and pinion power steering pump mounted next to it and this is the hose I use which might be the same as yours, NAPN 8623. Like I say, just look around and you will find parts to fit our Hudsons today. I see you have what looks like the AMC fuel pump.I dug up some pictures of a lower hose I used on a 54 with power steering that had an A/C compressor mounted on the passenger (rt.) side.
