Don Butler- The person
I have the Don Butler book on Hudson, probably the best book ever written on the subject. But for someone who obviously had a great love for Hudson's, I have never heard anything about him personally. I tried to Goggle him yesterday and all I get are references to his books.
I have been in the Club for 12 years and have never heard of him at any of our functions, and I imagine this is most likely because he has past on. Was he ever an active Club member that attended Hudson meets? In the book preface , he states he was hired by Hudson, but doesn't say anything about where he worked in the plant or for how long. He also credited long time Club members for their help with the book, some of them are still active in the Club today.
It just seems that for someone who knew so much about the Essex, Hudson, and Terraplane history, you never hear anyone speak of him. Anybody have any stories?

THE HISTORY OF HUDSON the author of this fine book, the late Don Butler, was a stylist for Hudson, Nash and AMC during the 1950's.
A place where Don was mentioned:

Thanks WildWasp,
I didn't know he was a stylist. Judging by the response, it looks like he never was very active in the club.0 -
was he an active member? He wrote for other makes also I believe! This was not his only book!0

One fellow who wrote a couple Hudson books, Richard Langworth up in New Hampshire, has been a member of the club for more years than I can remember.
Nice fellow - tho I've only met him thru correspondence, I think.
