A Hudson Christmas Train

Some people like to put an electric train under the Christmas tree so I put together this Hudson themed Lionel train under my little Christmas tree. It consists of a New York Central J-3a (ALCO, 1938) Hudson type steam locomotive (4-6-4 wheel arrangement) pulling a Hudson-Terraplane box car complete with a 1936 Hudson Terraplane beside it all. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

Neat - the best of all worlds. Christmas, Hudson and model trains!!! LOL

I'd leave it up all year. :D

Oh, wait a minute - I do leave my tree up all year. Maybe I should get an HO or N gage train to run around it.

I'm with you Alex, best of all worlds. Now I just need to find that box car for my N scale set up.

    Merry Christmas all!

  • By the way, I know there's an N gauge 1920's era Hudson Essex box car available from some manufacturer of N gauge trains. And that raises the question, did the Hudson Motor Car Co. ever have it's own railroad freight cars? I believe the O gauge one I have pictured here is fictional and not based on any real box car.

I thought I saw pictures of Husdon cars loaded into box cars. Some on a transport ship that went down in the Great Lakes also.
