Hi folks. I've been slowly working on a '34 Hudson coupe street rod for all too long. Chassis work is pretty well done--dropped front axle w/discs, small block Ford, C-4 automatic and Ford 8" rear end. Chassis is sitting in box trailer while I work on body. It will be pretty much stock. It had a lot of rust so new tail panel under trunk and new lower doors and floors. Right now we're getting ready to install a sliding rag top in the opening for the fabric insert. I'll keep you posted.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

    What state are you in?

Can you show us some pictures? Especially of "in process" stuff.:)
  • I'm in Lacey, Washington. At the southern end of Puget Sound. I'll get some pictures posted.

Do not know how much you know about the HET. A lot of the folks that you will speak with on the Forum are members. We will be having a National Meet in your neighborhood this August in Spokane. Something you might want to plan to attend. Cars, parts, and knowledgable folks...... You can to www.hetclub.org to visit the HET website. Welcome to the Forum.
  • I used to be a member. I'll have to rejoin. Spokane in August sounds good.

I bought the '34 as an already somewhat modified project about a decade ago. My term as Mayor ended in December and now I have time to devote to the project.

There is a very nice 34 rumbleseat coupe here locally that is what I call a resto-mod. It has all the new undercarriage, sweet little Chevy 350 with the new fuel injected tri-power. You would think it was stock until it passed you on the highway going above 80. There is also a very nice resto-rod locally. He went with all stock undercarriage and added a Chevy 350 with a 400 tranny. He regrets that he did not do the undercarriage. My 39 convertible shown above resting on a Wyoming hill side will have a Chevy 327 with tri-power.

Welcome back to the HET. Mayor takes a lot of time--it is good to have a bit of free time after that. Look for me at the National in Spokane. I'll be driving my 36 Hudson sport saloon (English built.)

Welcome aboard, Graeme- I'm in Chehalis, always ready to respond to fellow Hudsonites who need another hand for some "heavy lifting" (or for just shootin' the breeze). Would love to see your rig sometime. I keep promising to take my '48 up to see Dan, father of Rambo (one of our more loquacious members), but haven't done so as yet. Lacey seems like a more attainable goal.

  • Thanks for the warm welcome. Mike, we'll have to get together for coffee. I'm excited about getting this project on the road.

    Welcome!

I was just down in Lacey yesterday for a job interview - looks like there was a good wind storm down there over the weekend.

Those 34's are sweet rides - can't wait to see some pics.
