flywheel removal help
I'm in the process of going over a 212 engine which I intend to use in my '41 I took the transmission off and removed the clutch assembly. I want to take the flywheel off because I'm leery of putting the engine on an engine stand when all I have access to is the two top bolt holes in the block. I want to bolt it in four locations so I can turn the engine to check the bottom end.
I took the nuts off the flywheel, and assumed that I coulld pull the flywheel right off. Wrong. It will not budge with moderate effort using a pry bar and I think there must be some trick to this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

mine just tapped off with a nylon faced dead blow hammer...i will not mention the time it came quicker than i thought so i quickly reacted to get my foot in place to protect my concrete floor from damage...LOL so perhaps leave a couple of bolts in place as you tap it off. regards, tom0

If you try to remove a heavier Model A flywheel (about 65 pounds) dont use your foot, put a board or something to catch it. Foot doctors can be expensive. I havent had to use one yet, just a board. Be safe, Bob0
