Hudson Parts Service sign "reproduction"

Last Summer I purchased for $65.00 this "reproduction" of a Hudson dealer sign from a seller at the "Skip's Fiesta" Antique Car Show and Swap Meet at the Lake County Fair Grounds at Grayslake, IL. I thought maybe someone out there might also be interested in purchasing one of these signs. It's painted metal (not baked porcelain) and measures 29" across by 19" from the top to the bottom point. Note that's it's the Parts-Service versus the Sales-Service sign and it has slightly tapered sides. I went to the recent "Skip's" show this past weekend, February 21, and asked the same person I bought this sign from last year if he'd be willing to sell his signs through the mail. He said, "yes" and the cost of insured mail would be between $15.00 and $20.00. Here's the information from his business card: Signs Through Time, John 847-669-3966. Sorry, he has no e-mail. The included photos are of the one I have in my garage and the surrounding signs and hub caps on the wall help to gauge the actual size.

  • A few months ago I recall someone pointing out on this website an individual selling on Craig's List an actual Hudson sign similar to the "reproduction" I've pictured here. However, the real one had a price tag around $2000.00 It was porcelain-enamal metal, a bit larger and in very good condition considering its age. Nonetheless, most comments posted thought it to be way too overpriced.
