Hello,
I sent you a PM regarding some parts but failed to mention that If you are not in The Hudson Essex Terraplane (HET) Club, I suggest joining for the Bi Monthly Magazine with helpful Tech articles, Classified Section, List of Suppliers, and a lot more to assit your Project, plus, locate Annual Regional Meets near your area, not to mention a large National Meet every year.0 -
Yes, I replied to your mail. I used to be a member of the national Hudson club back in the 70's when I drove a 49 club coupe. I have re-joined since working on this 37. The 49 is still my favorite all time car and I am looking to one day own another one. Mine had a 55 308 with overdrive. I had a floor shifter with overdrive switch I could touch with my thumb and it worked very well. I have been working on Studebakers for the last 20 and was nudged back into Hudsons by Roy Marks, an old time friend.0

Did you look over at Ebay? You might also try Dave Kostansek, he often has that sort of stuff.0

Updated--
Seems Hudson used two different size's, a 3/4" tie rod assembly and a 7/8" tie rod assembly during these years. This PU has the 3/4" -smaller one.
I am working on the front chassis cleaning, painting and assembling stuff. It looks like I will need new tie rod ends as well as new or better steering arms. These are buggered up pretty bad. I understand that Hudson used two different sizes of tie rods, a 3/4" small one and a 7/8" larger one, used up until 1939? This one is the small 3/4" one. I just talked to Dave Kostansek @440 293 4079, and he has the small tie rod ends but nothing else. I want to hold off getting the ends until I come up with the proper steering arms and size the whole system out (3/4 or the larger 7/8). The parts chassis that we got from New Mexico has the larger 7/8" rod. I prefer not to use it unless we have to as the chassis can now be moved around when needed.

parts book -- maybe this will get us in the ball park.
# 22 (BX 153500) Tie rod clamp (same as 53-54 Jet)
# 17 (BX153481) R.H. tie rod
# 14 (BX 152735) R.H. Steering Arm (37-39)
#15 (BX152736) L.H. steering arm (37-39)
# 18 (BX153482) L.H. Tie Rod
# 152735 and 152736 (steering arms) go from 37-39, can anyone verify that?
Hope this makes sense!0
