You got that right! Another would-be designer, whose expertise was probably with a cutting torch, thought he could "improve" the design of the pros from Detroit.0 -
That was a rare, interesting and desirable car... plus three speed w O/D and leather. Good example of how to throw money away.0

Actually, the chop doesn't look too bad, at least from 20 feet (although I like Hudsoncustom's method better). Those taillights definitely gotta go- he's built up a fin starting at the back of the rear side window, and I can see some kind of tail lights out of a '57 to '59 vintage Mopar. Or that old standby, the '55 Packard, could be worked in. Hmmm. . .0

Such a shame. I am not sure you need or can do anything to a stepdown brougham and make it better. I particularlly like the 54's. They are one of my future project cars....0

The car has possibilities but the tail lights have to go. Add some bubble skirts to the rear and try an earlier model hood because that front don't look right to me. I'd either put in the original grille and bumper or do something with a 48- 52 hood. If it fits. I'm wondering if the rear window fits anymore. Could be why he's quitting on it.0

His ad mentioned front glass was cut and showed pics of front and rear glass.
To each his own as far as styling is concerned, but IMHO the tail lights have got to go and I would change the hood out opting for something more rounded, drop the beast a few inches and get her running.
I wonder what the rust situation really is on this car? He said something about patched floor pans and the pics look like he just plastered some paint on something...
I would love to see pics of the under carriage and the inside of the roof if its not covered up with a headliner already.
