Clifford headers on ebay went for $310, almost the current price for a new set. When did Clifford switch from the long tube to the shorty? Was there a reason?

I'd venture a guess that they made the switch to the shorty style about 4-5 years ago. I bought my set in '07, and I think they'd been tweaking the fit up of them for a couple years by then. I was lucky, because mine fit (and I assume any new ones) perfectly. The only modification I had to make was to add a dent to the top of the oil breather tube for clearance.



I also would imagine that for most enthusiasts the short block-hugging style would be preferred because you don't need to make any inner fender well changes. Both pipes exit right where the stock exhaust does, and is a much cleaner fit.
