I need one more 3.5 x 16" wheel for my '38 112 Convertible. Please let me know if you have one for sale.

Dave, are you sure that you measured this correctly?.
  • I have a parts car along with my convertible. Have a total of 8 wheels. Four are 4" and four are 3.5". I have seen references in various Hudson publications that refer to 3.5" wheels. I put a tape on one of the wheels for Rick Clark when he was here to show him the size.

Could the 3.5 vs. 4" wheel difference be explained by the 6.00 versus 6.50 tire size choice? Your car would probably have had the 6.00 x 16 tires, while the "senior" Hudsons would have had 6.50's. Other than the thickness, both wheels are identical.

Dave, there's a fellow not terribly far from me (he lives in Maryland) who has two 1937 Terraplane wheels he'd be willing to sell for $40 each. Problem is, of course, that I think you live out West, and that's a long way to come for a wheel. Possibly someone who know comes to Hershey each year, and we could get the wheel up there, for pickup by him. Best case scenario is that you'll find one closer to home.

You can PM me if interested, or e-mail me at HETdetailed@verizon.net (drop the HET first).

Oops, Senior Moment, there. For some reason I was thinking of Denverslim and his red '36 coo-pay!

The fellow with the wheels is located slightly west of Frederick, so if you're planning to be out there in the next few days, e-mail me and we can set something up.
