If it's a '37, you can find a parts book on Gregg Maroney's website: http://www.hudsonterraplane.com/tech/tech_index.htm . There are parts books for several other years of Hudson / Essex / Terraplane there, as well.0

Back in the 70's then editor of the WTN, Art Adams, put tech bulletins he (or someone) made up as center folds in various issues.
I have these on my web site @ http://www.hetclub.org/burr/ - scroll down to the bottom of the list to the 2nd technical service bulletin link - that's Technical Service Bulletins, Vol. 1. You may find what you want in Tech Bulletin TS 77-20.

Dave, That item will work with 51-54 but not 48-50 . The older splashers needed the same one, Maybe a threaded bushing would help since the diameter of the one you mentioned is smaller. If I remember correctly I think the 46-51(?) Kaisers and Frazers used the same one .There is a KF guy who sells the larger OD temp sending unit. Maybe that would help. Try Ron in South Carolina Bud. His number is(or perhaps was ) 803 648 4923. I don't think Dave Kostansek sells those anymore cause he can't get them. Good luck.0

THANKS GUYS, I don't see any problem with useing the bushing , I've done that many times ,. If it makes the gauge read close enough it's GOOD TO GO as far as I'm concerned . BUD0

Interesting, but not surprising, that the Advance Auto "search for applications" function for that part number results in a "this doesn't fit a Hudson."0

Alex, you can actually plug '53 Hudson Hornet' into the Advance Auto search, but as Park says it comes up empty handed.
Guys, what ohm range am I looking for in a 1/4" NPT sender that will work with the later stepdown gauge?
I'm guessing that while there are many 1/4" NPT senders available, they will have a variety of ohm ranges. This means the gauge won't indicate correctly if you use the wrong range.

For anybody's information - Another of Art Adams tech bulletins dealt with installing a 1951-54 type engine, 6 cyl., or an 8 cyl. head or engine in a 1948-50 car. The cylinder head can be modified to accommodate the car's original equipment type temperature indicator element. Bulletin TS 77-4 tells how to do this - go to my web site list @ www.hetclub.org/burr and go to the bottom of the list. Click on the 2nd tech_service_bulletin link and check out TS 77-4 (this list is searchable - simply type the TS 77-4 in a search box.
