Is there a trick for 52 Radiator Hoses?
I bought the replacement radiator hoses for my 52 hornet from Dave Kostansek. The top hose fit perfect. The lower hose it giving me a headache. It is made up of two rubber hose segments with a stainless steal middle section. No matter what I do it does not seem capable of making the sharp turn needed. Is there a trick to making this fit or something else I am missing

Dial a prayer!!!
Seriously, tho. I just looked up the parts in the 1952 parts book I have on-line - http://hetclub.org/burr (scroll down to manuals and then scroll down there to the 1952 parts book - go to Page 111) - the parts book lists the following:
Hose-radiator inlet - 1-1/2" ID curved
Hose-radiator outlet - 1-5/8" ID x 4" long
Nothing there about an insert. ???

Does the car have the Hudson radiator or a replacement? If replacement ... then0

FWIW, in times past I've picked through the hoses at a spare parts place and found a one piece bottom hose. It was from a Toyota Landcruiser, can't recall the model though.0

I think you hit my problem on the head. My radiator outlet comes directly out towards the engine, not at an angle. So my radiator has either been redone or was swapped out.
The picture really helped, thanks.
I think I will head down to Napa and see what they have for hoses with a 90 degree bend.0 -

I know I have seen pictures of the engine compartment in your car. Memory being what it is ... I believe the radiator was exchanged with a Mopar unit.0 -

It always makes me smile when I realize again and again, many people know more about my car (specially) than I do.0
