Torque for head bolts 212 engine

Looked around on webpages but couldn't find specs. Can anyone tell me the lbs to torque the headbolts on a 212 (only 3/8" so 45 - 50 lbs?).

(anyone have a decent shop manual for 47's for sale?)

Thanks in advance.

My 48 Motors Manual lists the tension for the 47 and other 212's @ 40 lbs. ft.

    Cylinder head studs that is.

    Super (6 that is :) ) Thanks.
  • YUP, 40 it is and you want to retorque as soon as it warms up useing a circular pattern from the center out and keep doing it untill they hold at 40 LBS . It will take several passes . DO NOT OVER TORQUE , those old studs break pretty easy . BUD
