Lone Star Roundup... Austin Texas

Today I attended the Lone Star Roundup. Wow... Many Many cars of all kinds. I walked the grounds for eight hours and did not see all the cars... and they were still coming when I left.

A nice hilight was meeting Mike from South Florida... a regular here in the past. He drove his 49 Hudson Coupe 1300 miles to attend the meet. He said the twin H equipped 308 did not skip a beat. His car was one of three Hudsons I spotted during the day. His was the only Hudson powered car. Mike is a hotrodder at heart and is running a Muncie 4 speed and a 9 inch Ford rear.

I was unable to locate the owners of the other two Hudson. Both local to Austin vehicles. Coincidenly, both vehicles were 46 models, one a pickup and the other a coupe. The drive trains in both were non Hudson.:D

I know that two other CCC Hudson folks were at the meet... Hudson Grandpa and Russell Chilton, but we never crossed paths. :(

A nice mixed interest car meet... I will make a point of attending again next year and plan to stay the full three days.

Tomorrow nite the Wasp and I will go to the local cruise ... full car weekend.:)

Didn't make it this year, Ken. Momma's going to Omaha next week . . . too much to do to get ready for that. My old man's there, though. He stays throughout the show. I'm sure he'll be up for another 4-5 hours watching the burn-outs on Congress Ave.
