I have a pretty nice pair of 1931 Pennsylvania tags "s257c" . Before I put them on Ebay, I want to offer them to any HET member that would like to have them. $50.00 includes postage to US PO. I bought them years ago to display on my Model A Ford, since that is my birth state. I opted to use NC tags because that's where the car and I were when we met back in 1956. :)

If you are serious, I'll take some pics and email 'em. Might consider some trade on very good 49 Florida Tag.

Good luck on the 49 FL tags. Someday I may register mine, but for now I just

run it on the front with my Antique tag on the rear and haven't been bothered

about it. I haven't seen many 49 FL tags at the swapmeets and had to pay

$85 for this single just because the #'s meant something to me coming from

a drag racing background. Division (2),Champion (1) and 1320 being the

number of feet in the quarter mile...

I find it intresting how we are able to find something important such as numbers and letters in the licence plates we use. Yours is so simple and understandable and yet I would bet that each time you display your car someone would ask about it?

My latest project is my 1936 English Hudson. The plate number it had on it when it left the factory was EPH 317.

The "EPH" would represent my given name Edwin Petersen's Hudson and the 317 is the number of the stamp that I was issued when I first started work in Aerospace. Each time I would sign an engineering drawing, policy, procedure or any paperwork this stamp number would be afixed to the document. Perhaps, I was ment to be the owner of this car?

That's my story and I am sticking to it.....
  • I was also lucky to find a set of plates for my 51 coupe that have 'B-29' on them. They're good for two reasons, first I'm an aviation buff, and second, Hudson made parts for the B-29 during the war.

We can get 6 character personalized plates made here in NZ (for an exhorbitant cost for the 1st claimant).

Hence my original forum name ESSX 28

I picked up a 1944 "PENNA" tag a few years ago and I thought that it was from some place in Mexico? So, what say yea?
