Looks nice! Is that a full pressure filter system? Unfortunatley, I don't think I'd be able to connect that oil filter unit to my Pacemaker as it has a Supermatic drive that blocks the attaching points on the engine.

Hi Gary, you are correct that those engines are full pressure systems, but the filter is still a by-pass filter and only filters a small percentage of the oil at a time. I was told several years ago it filtered about 10 to 15 %. Eventually all the oil probably did get filtered.

Years ago I modified a flathead block to have a 100% full flow spin-on filter system that has worked since 2006. Richie.

Good job, Michael. Now, if you want it to look REALLY cool, but the equivalent filter from NAPA (NAPA Brand), which is black and comes with a sticker on it that peels right off. Then you can put a Hudson sticker on it. Post pics later.

I like the idea, but where do I find Hudson stickers? A quick search of my latest WTN did not turn up much.

Going to this set up, really cleans the oil. The old stocking type had to be changed every 1,000 miles along with the oil. This set up works for 3,000 miles and after you change the oil and filter twice, to clean out the sludge in your oil pan, it will come out clean. My engine using this set up from day one, and now showing 130,000 miles, oil has never gotten black. Check it out at Spokane. Hudson is a full flow system and this set up lets the by pass oil filter cleaner. Walt.

How much for this system? I just changed my oil and old style filter, bit messy and the c3 filters are getting harder to find.

This filter is not intended for the 212 splasher motor correct?



I have read a number of different opinions on filters for the splasher motors and some of them do not line up with the Hudson filter option.

I finally found some time to get some pictures and get back to this. Michael asked me about my oil filter on our sedan. It's a NAPA brand which comes black and has a removeable sticker. The "Hudson" logo sticker can be got from Paul Schuster, I think they are like 4 for $3.00 or so. Raises the cost of an oil change by a buck or so, no biggee. Looks somewhat modern, but a little more retro than a Fram oil filter, I think.

It's funny: folks always ask me where I found the Hudson oil filter!

Second pic is of the C3 type, which I re-built. This one will go into the convertible (eventually).

Still haven't figured out how to put text between pics (or I forgot, not sure which).
