Where exactly do these bushing go? I know it says rear springs, but where?

  • If they are the small diameter, then they go on the rear spring shackles between the "U" shackle and the spring. If they are the large rubber bushings, then they go in the eye of the spring .

They go in the eye at the front end of the rear springs.

Jack up the rear and place horses under the frame, then slowly lower rear till it just held up by the jack. Remove the lock nut from the front of the rear spring, then remove the bolt that goes through. Clean this bolt good. Lower jack just enough for spring to lower out of the hanger. Remove old rubber bushings and clean inside of the spring eye, install 2 bushings, small end, then spray with WD-40 and have someone slowly raise the jack as you line bushings into the hanger, install bolt and lock nut it. Easy as pie, Walt.

    Walt,

On both the chassis I have here, neither one had a lock nut on that bolt. The bolt is just long enough to pass through the outer bracket hole. If a nut was put on, it would have to be very thin to fill the threaded portion of the nut with bolt. strange!

Also, I am working on a 37 PU. I see the bushing application is "40" and above.
